Singapore Business Investment Forum (SBIF) Launches Sectorial Committees to Further Boost Singaporean Business Interests in Cambodia

Phnom Penh, 24 October 2023 - The Singapore Business Investment Forum (SBIF) proudly announces the launch of its sectorial committees, a significant step towards strengthening the representation and advocacy of Singaporean businesses in Cambodia. The launch event took place at the Norea Cove showroom, marking another milestone in SBIF's commitment to fostering business growth and collaboration between Singapore and Cambodia.

Albert Tan, President of SBIF, commented on the launch, "The establishment of the sectorial committees is a testament to SBIF's dedication to ensuring that every member, whether a large corporation or a small startup, has a voice and the support they need to thrive in Cambodia. We believe that these committees will play a pivotal role in addressing sector-specific challenges and opportunities, ultimately contributing to the overall growth and prosperity of Singaporean businesses in Cambodia."

The positive impact of the sectorial committees is anticipated across various dimensions. They will facilitate more targeted discussions, foster closer ties between businesses within the same sector, and enable the creation of sector-specific strategies and initiatives. Moreover, they will provide a platform for businesses to collaborate on shared challenges and opportunities, leading to innovative solutions and stronger business ties between Singapore and Cambodia.

The newly introduced sectorial committees include:

-Development and Construction
-Banking and Insurance
-Logistics, Transport, and Warehousing
-Hospitality and F&B
-Manufacturing and Sustainability
-Education and IT/Cyber
-Agriculture and Energy
-Media, Advertising, and Event
-General Trade

The SBIF is dedicated to bolstering Singaporean business endeavors in Cambodia, fostering stronger ties with local partners, other business chambers, and government agencies. By bridging the information gap and enhancing Singapore's branding presence, SBIF aims to attract more investors, showcase Singaporean business potential, and swiftly adapt to Cambodia's evolving business landscape.

One of the highlights of the evening was a presentation by Mr. Gabriel Tan, Chief Communications Officer of Prince Holding Group, and Mr. Alva Chew, Founder of Stridec Worldwide. Both, as Co-Heads of the Media, Advertising, and Event Committee, delved into the revolutionary realm of AI, exploring its foundational concepts and practical applications. They also presented a live demonstration featuring ChatGPT.

The event was made even more memorable thanks to the generous contributions of food and beverage sponsors, including Prawn Paradise, Dakshin Restaurant, Shanghai Bar, Samba Elite Brazilian Steakhouse, LSH, Phillip Bank, and Vattanac Beer.
